This year we have an incredibly important election on the ballot August 11th: Hennepin County Attorney. The Hennepin County Attorney is a critical part of our public safety system, responsible for prosecuting thousands of cases in our community every year.
I hear from residents and business owners every week who tell me the same thing: they want to feel safe on Nicollet Mall, on the light rail, walking to their car after a show or a shift. They want people held accountable for their actions. That’s not a talking point to me. It’s the job.
That’s why I’m proudly supporting Anders Folk for Hennepin County Attorney. Anders has dedicated his career to public service and public safety. He served as a Judge Advocate in the Marine Corps, spent more than a decade as a career prosecutor and ultimately went on to lead the U.S. Attorney’s Office as Acting U.S. Attorney during the Biden administration. He’s prosecuted complex cases ranging from gang violence to terrorism and public corruption.
I’ve spent years working on public safety from the council side, pushing for better staffing, backing important police reforms, and getting social workers on the street downtown. None of that work matters if the cases don’t get taken seriously once they are referred for prosecution. I know that Anders will do exactly that and pursue justice for crime victims and accountability from perpetrators.
Victims need someone who actually shows up for them, not just in the headlines, but in the follow-through. That’s what I want in a County Attorney, and that’s what Anders will deliver.

There you go again being a good, responsible city councilman. Can’t you try to fit in better with your colleagues? It’s bad enough that you’re as pale as Nivea moisturizer. Please just keep your endorsement quiet, please!! We can’t let anyone else be infected with your clear thinking.
